Among the updates is an improved contact manager as well as a rewritten back-end that promises to provider a faster email browsing experience. A Google spokesperson said about 1 percent of Gmail users have had this option enabled and they intend to provide more access on an on-going basis.

What does this mean for the Goog? It means that even though they’re hemorrhaging cash and making acquisitions that rival the Web 1.0 bubble days, they’re still extremely profitable.
