Adobe to put apps… online?
Oct192007 5:02PM — John —Adobe announced at the Web 2.0 Summit that they intended to take all of their applications online within 10 years. They’ve already created heavily stripped down versions of both Premiere and Photoshop, the former Premiere Express which is used in popular video mashups websites including YouTube and the latter being recently demoed at Adobe Max. Both, however, still falling far short of their desktop counterparts. Why the big push for online apps? To prevent piracy? To enable unity and integration in some sort of Apple-esque walled garden? To just be progressive for the sake of progression? Their motives still remain cloudy.
