Just a few hours after Niacin’s TIFF powered Jailbreak the original iPod Dev Team has released their own purportedly more reliable Jailbreak for iPhones WITHOUT modified base bands. An iPod touch Jailbreak is supposedly in the works to be released at a later date. The Hack provides Jailbreak, activation and the ability to run third party apps without relying on the soon to be patched TIFF exploit.
